How did you get involved in cheer?: I heard about try-outs from a past member from my hometown.
What made you want to cheer at the University of Northern Iowa?: I’ve always loved to cheer and to be part of a team. I knew that UNI had a solid cheer program and I wanted to be a part of it. It’s a great place to meet new people and an excellent way to be a role model.
Favorite UNI Cheer Squad moment: Cheer at the women’s NCAA tournament
Most embarrassing moment: I was in the back-bend position of the Game-On student and my skirt flew!
What do you like to do when you are not cheering? Workout, hang out with friends, and go to movies
Personal Motto/quote to live by: Life is not about surviving the storm, but about learning how to dance in the rain.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? In a small town, teaching second grade and being a high school cheerleading coach.
Not many people know this but I: took dance lessons for 15 years.
Do you have any advice for future team members? Work hard, be confident, and keep a positive attitude-- a lot will happen for you!
